Following is a non-exhaustive list of ressources for free or low cost spay/neuter.
The rates are only listed as an indication of what you can expect to pay and may have changed since this page was last updated. Please check with the organizations.

• Free and Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Database: find low-cost spay/neuter programs in your community, using your zip code.
  
  
• SpayNation for Dogs and Cats Lafayette, LA. tel.:(337) 264-1088. Male cat: $42 - Female cat: $52 - Male dog: $59 - Female dog: $71 - Add $7 for rabies shot, if the pet is not already vaccinated.
• Feral Power Too is a subsidized program collaboration between Lafayette Animal Aid and Wild Cat Foundation. This program is for FERAL cats only - not pet cats.
• The St. Martin Humane Society offers free spaying/neutering for St. Martin Parish households whose annual income is $20,000 or less.
• The St. Martin Humane Society and Lafayette Animal Aid offer 30 % discount certificates from the Acadiana Area Vet Association if your annual income is $30,000 or less (regardless of the Parish, no membership required)
• The St. Martin Humane Society offers $30.00 discounts on your pets’ spay/neutering (for every pet) with a minimum annual membership of $10 for an individual and $15 family (regardless of the Parish), valid with St. Martin Parish veterinarians or any other veterinarians who accepts SMHS' certificate (some in New Iberia and Lafayette).
• PAAW - People Assisting Animal Welfare will pay one-half of the surgery cost up to $55 for cats and dogs as funds are available. Call (337) 856-6628 from 9am-5pm for more information.
• The Louisiana SPCA offers low cost spaying/neutering: $25 for feral cats, between $40 and $50 for owned cats, and between $75 and $100 for dogs.
• Southern Animal Foundation offers low cost spaying/neutering: $20 for cats (owned or feral) and between $50 and $70 for dogs.
• My Heart's Desire offers low cost spaying/neutering for Terrebonne Parish, LA: $50 for cats, $60 for dogs.
